HABITAT: growing in a 25-year old Pinus sylvestris plantation. Malaxis unifolia growing several cm
away; Liparis liliifolia within 2 meters
Flower from a single plant. First noted on 13/Jul/1978 in a mature but vegetative condition: Leaves 2,
orbicular, flat on the ground, 10cm long by 7cm wide, shiny green above, silvery below. Noted in bloom
16/Jul/1979: scape bractless, square in
cross-section, 22cm tall; flowers 11, greenish, with lips to 1cm long and spurs 2cm long. Did not bloom
in 1980. Plant not refound in 1982, apparently dead.
